What is SafeShot?
SafeShot is a privacy-focused camera app that lets you blur faces, replace them with emojis, apply background blur, and modify voices in videos - all processed on your device for maximum privacy.
Frequently Asked Questions
SafeShot uses Apple's Vision framework to detect faces in real-time, entirely on your device. Face location data exists only in memory during processing and is immediately discarded. No facial data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
Absolutely! SafeShot processes everything on your device. We don't collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no servers, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. Your photos and videos are saved directly to your device's photo library under your control.
SafeShot provides several privacy protection modes:
- Face Blur: Automatically blurs detected faces
- Emoji Overlay: Replace faces with fun emojis (😊, 😍, 🌟, 😎)
- Background Blur: Portrait mode effect that blurs the background
- Voice Modification: Change your voice in videos (high pitch, deep voice, robotic)
SafeShot supports pinch-to-zoom gestures and quick zoom presets (0.5x, 1x, 2x). On devices with ultra-wide cameras, you can zoom out to 0.5x for wider shots. The current zoom level is displayed when you're between presets.

You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
All captured content is saved directly to your device's Photos app. SafeShot adds a "SafeShot" watermark to help identify privacy-protected content. The watermark moves position during video recording to prevent removal.
